So Aquaman lives in lighthouse instead of a palace? How humanizing, how humbling, how inefficient.  He has all that power in the ocean, so why does he want to go to the land?  Does Superman go out of his way to find kryptonite? But I guess they are setting up stories to show us Aquaman’s early years.  Hinting at some mysterious friend of his fathers in the past.

Mera is quickly becoming one of my favorite characters.  In one scene she is a giddy girl, and the next a haughty queen.  I really enjoyed when she cut loose with her water powers. I love how she wants to ‘educate’ the townsfolk.

The art has some great moments and details.  Why does the little boy have a bandage on his nose?  I don’t know, but it added realism and character.  There are lots of little character touches like that.  In one scene Mera tucks her hair behind her ear in girlish way.  Even the details on the cop looks accurate, from the color the his cuffs.  All add together to help the story.
