This issue brought us Dragons. Two kinds. The almost thought extinct and Heraldic. I guess the dragons don’t have wings and look like dinosaurs. But the Heraldic ones are big and winged.
The artist does a great job with both kinds. He takes a lot time to put the scales and teeth in every panel. He even gives a perspective of a dragon’s mouth from the inside. In fact he puts a lot of detail on many things: Armbands are shiny, and leather bow wrappings are not only drawn, but given a bit of wear.
I guess we learn about this group of adventures. While the characters seem bit over the top and cartoonish, they still provide a lot of fun, and that what this book is about. I get a bit confused by some the historical context with Saracens and Visigoths, while using modern dialogue. But as long as it remains this fun it all fits together. There was some of the Etrigan ryming we used to enjoy, but it seemed out of place unless used all the time.
