Clark Kent the downtrodden. Clark the hero of the people. Enemy of the state. Enemy of corrupt politics. So scary to the system that police will come to his apartment and search it for evidence. Trashing his place to intimidate him into not pursuing stories.
This usually isn’t what I read Superman stories for. I don’t expect social commentary from Clark except for ‘don’t do drugs’, ‘stay in school’, and ‘return your library books’. But I guess this is the new populist Superman from Grant Morrison. But the dialogue is great, so I’m on board.
I’m not sure why citizens throw bricks at him. He saved a girl from truck and a cat from a tree. But still the bricks? And why does Superman turn away from the bricks? They don’t hurt him. But he has other problems as Lex has made a deal with some other Aliens.
