Batman #2

It starts with flash-forward.  How does Bruce get kicked out a window?  And then tells us how it happened. It’s an overused story telling device.  It creates a mystery when there isn’t really one, and it starts with action that belongs at the end.  But it is still a good trick.

I enjoyed the interaction between Nightwing and Batman.  Reminiscing about their favorite air duct in the morgue.  How many times do you have do something before you have a favorite?  A lot.

Also enjoyed the fact that Batman questioned Nightwing about the crowd incident, even though he already saw the surveillance tapes.  And Nightwing already knew that he had, because Batman is that thorough and paranoid.

The helicopter scene was a lot of fun.  Pulling the guy from the helicopter was unexpected.  And the close up grin of Batman as they played chicken was just macho cool.

I’m not sure where this owls of Gotham story is going.  And this assassin seems to be able to come back to life and has bragged about killing Waynes.  So he must be very old?  Were they behind the Joe Chill attack on his father?  I hope not as that story has been used for 70 years now and should be put to rest.
