Batwing #2

Even though everyone wants to read this book for the art, and don’t get me wrong the art is excellent.  The story is strong.  They seem to be building a deep back story involving the previous heroes.  Who are they?  Why did they stop being heroes?  How did Massacre find out their identities?  It should make for entertaining stories.

I must say that everyone there is tougher.  The hero gets up out of bed after 2 weeks.  He was impaled by a sword last issue.  Shouldn’t he be in physical therapy for a year?  And you have got to see what happens in the fight with Thunder Fall!  They are tough.

I’m not sure how the artist gets things so shiny.  Armor is shiny, metal is shiny, but he gets faces to have a shine too.  And he does an outstanding job showing emotions and expressions.  Pain looks more painful, and surprises are more intense.  Maybe because you linger on the artwork, it makes each frame look like full-page.
