They sure don’t make this book easy on new readers. Not only is this the Legion of Superheroes, but it is a subset of the legion. It is for those who like their legion of superheroes, but in smaller doses. Isn’t that what makes it a legion? That there are so many.
I’m just not sure what the focus of this book is about. It’s for people who like legion of superheroes, but just not in the future. Take a large group of young heroes from the future. Now take away the large group. Now, take away the future. We are left with a young hero team, similar to many others set in present day DC. The only difference is they reference characters and events in the future.
And boy do they. The reference events, characters and alien races in the future. It sounds so cool there so why don’t they set a comic there instead. Oh, I guess they already do.
I guess the lesson from this issue is: some people don’t want to be helped. They would rather blow themselves up. Why? Because it feels cool? I’m not totally sure why, except he was alone and new in the town. I guess that is motivation enough to ‘give up your soul’ as we were told he did.
