Voodoo

Voodoo is a Wildstorm character from a ways back.  But now that she is brought into mainstream DC universe she can interact with all the DC heroes.  But from this book, it seems like it doesn’t matter which universe she is in.  As the story takes place entirely in a strip club.

DC has rated this book as T+.  Which means it is suitable for teens.  I guess they never really show any nudity or swear.  But they came as close to it as you can.  I guess I was surprised DC pushed the envelope as far as they did with a lauch title #1.

The story is well done, and Marz has a great ear for dialogue.  You can tell everyone’s personality just by the way they talk and what they say.  The art is nice and clean.  It feels like movie storyboards as the action always seems stopped in time.  The coloring is a bit odd as everything looks like is filtered through a purple lens.  Everything is tinted a bit red or purple.  At first I thought it might be to show the light of the stripclub, but the other shots are similar.
