Jonathan Hickman was born and raised in South Carolina, Hickman earned a degree in Architecture.
Between 2006 and 2008, Hickman published his debut comic book series The Nightly News and Pax Romana, both of which he wrote, drew, colored and lettered.
In 2019 Hickman spearheaded the “Dawn of X”, a relaunch of the X-Men family of titles, providing the core storyline and concepts. This began with the House of X and Powers of X limited series that laid out the new status quo developed by Hickman that would define the Krakoan Age. He wrote the core X-Men series while coordinating with the creators of other x titles.
In 2023, Hickman helped spearhead the relaunch of the Ultimate Universe, kicked off with the four-issue miniseries Ultimate Invasion, and since 2024, he is writing a rebooted Ultimate Spider-Man.

-Hickman is also teaming up with artist Greg Capullo for a new miniseries starring Wolverine. The 5-issue miniseries, titled Wolverine: Revenge will release its first issue in August 21, 2024
